Biographical Sketch

Jide Wintoki is a Ph.D. candidate at the Terry College of Business of the University of Georgia . His research interests include empirical corporate finance (especially corporate governance), international finance and applied econometrics. He is currently working on his dissertation and his dissertation committee includes Dr. Jeffry Netter , Dr. James Linck and Dr. Chris Stivers.

Update: Jide completed his Ph.D. in May 2008 and will be starting as an Assistant Professor at the School of Business of the University of Kansas in the Fall of 2008.

In addition to research, Jide also teaches classes in Corporate Finance Theory, Computers in Finance and Research Methods in Finance.

Prior to his studies at Georgia , Jide completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering at the University of Lagos . He has also held worked in variety of positions with ExxonMobil, Procter & Gamble, and Nigeria LNG (A Shell Gas/Agip/TotalFinaElf/NNPC Joint Venture).

Extracurricular Activities

Jide Wintoki’s extracurricular interests include international affairs, as well as domestic politics. He is a big believer in science and the culture of scientific enquiry. He also has a mild obsession for English Premiership soccer especially the fortunes of Arsenal FC.
